Job Summary

The Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) provides essential care services in accordance with a patient's care plan and state regulations. Responsibilities include assisting with personal hygiene, mobility, meal preparation, and medication reminders, as well as educating patients and caregivers on self-care and wellness. Who Can Perform CHHA Duties?

• Certified Home Health Aides with a valid NJ Board of Nursing certificate.
• Nursing students with a written waiver from the NJ Board of Nursing.
• Recent graduates of a homemaker home health aide training program awaiting certification.

Physical Requirements:

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and standing.
• Capability to manage stress effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and assisting with mobility.
• Monitor vital signs and report any abnormalities.
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and medication reminders.
• Support daily activities such as toileting, bed-making, and light housekeeping.
• Follow the care plan developed by the RN and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
